Welcome to The Trojan's Lair, the website for the Diamond Trojans Baseball Program. The Diamond Trojans compete in the GHSA Region 5-AA, and they are coached by Greg Williams. Barnesville is seated in Lamar Co. which is located in the Heart of Central Georgia, approximately 60 miles southwest of Atlanta, 17 miles south of Griffin, 13 miles west of Forsyth, 14 miles east of Zebulon, and 12 miles north of Thomaston. The Diamond Trojans play their games on Aldora Field at The Trojans Athletic Complex, which is located just off of Hwy. 18 behind the Lamar Co. Middle School. The purpose of this site , first-and-foremost, is to promote all 'that-is' Trojans Baseball. One of our many goals will be to keep the readership informed of current events, as they relate to the program, by utilizing this site to make important announcements. Trojan Tidbits Rescheduling Notes -- The JV Game for Mon., Mar. 8th, with Westside Macon has been rescheduled for Wed., Mar. 10th, due to a conflict with the makeup of the Varsity Game game with Pike Co. on Mon., Mar 8th.
First Annual Trojans Dugout Club Golf Tournament Set... The First Annual Trojans Dugout Club Golf Tournament has been set for Sat., April 17, 2010 @ The Hickory Ridge Golf Club (706-648-2955), 838 Thompson Rd., in Meansville, GA. 30256. A 'Rain Make-Up-Date' would be scheduled for Sat., April 24, 2010. The ' Pre-registration Deadline' for a guaranteed spot in the tournament is Wed., April 14, 2010. Walk-ons are welcomed, but not guaranteed... There will be a 9:00 a.m. Shotgun Start, 4-Man Scramble, & 20 teams maximum can be entered in the tournament. The fee is $400.00 per team, $100.00 per player, & lunch will be provided... Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishes. Other perks will be a 'Closest To The Pin Contest', 'Long Drive Contest', Mulligans @ $10.00 each (Max. 2-per golfer), & 3' 'Tap-In String' for $25.00. Coach Williams & Coach Danny Slaughter meet at home plate to go over the ground rules prior to the 'Opening Day Contest' between the Trojans & the Howard Huskies from Region 4-AA in Macon on Tues., Feb. 23rd, at Aldora Field. The Trojans came out on top by a 11-5 score...
The ceremonial first pitch(es) to start the 2010 Season were thrown out by David Reeves (L) from The Garden Patch Restaurant & John Bittner (R) from South Down Bar-B-Q & Grills. Mr. Reeves & Mr. Bittner were being recognized & honored to show the Dugout Club's appreciation of their contributions to the Annual Boston Butt Fundraiser.
The new 6,000 Sq. Ft. Indoor Hitting & Training Facility is 90% completed... What an awesome facility!!! It looks even better in 'real time'. There will be a delay in getting into the new facility, until 'turf' flooring can be installed in the hitting cages...

^^^Trojans Baseball Sponsor Signs @ Aldora Field^^^ NEWS FLASH!!! In addition to the Dugout Club's Annual Membership Drive, the Club is (also) active in soliciting sponsorships for the team by offering sign advertising at Aldora Field. 2'x2' Signs are available for just $150 that will be mounted on a Trojans Signboard that is located behind the pressbox, and in view of all of the fans attending the games at Aldora Field. Games are played in the spring, summer, & fall seasons. Renewable signs are available for $125. Your contributions will go directly to our baseball program. Our primary goal, each year, is to provide funds for above average field maintenance, equipment, uniforms, tournaments, banquets & team camps for our players. And, for the first time, the Dugout Club is offering advertsing on the Trojans Scoreboard at Aldora Field. 4'x5'-&-4'x10' scoreboard signs are now available for $900-&-$1500, respectively. These contracts are for a 1-year period. Two year contracts are being offered at a discount to the 1-year contracts.
